Billie Gladden Guy, 79, of Fayetteville, passed away on Sunday, February 19,  at her home surrounded by her loving family, including her beloved dog, Nellie Jo

Billie was born on March 3, 1943 to,the late William and Louise Gladden of Lincolnton, NC.  She is also preceded in death by her first husband, Max Crawley, and her second husband, Charles Guy.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Cammie O’Brien, and her husband Tommy; her grandchildren, Benjamin O’Brien, Anna Yates and her husband, Benjamin;  her sister, Jill Goins and her husband, Rick; her beloved extended family including Aaron Barefoot, Ian Ellis, Allen and Kim Guy, Stephen and Jennifer Guy, and Laurie and George Shepherd. 

Billie graduated from Lincolnton High School in 1961.  In 1974 she began a career as a sales representative with Avon Cosmetics, which lasted for 45 years.  She was known by family and friends for her glamour and style as well as her sweet and compassionate spirit.

Billie made a wonderful home for her husband, Max, and their daughter, Cammie, on Guy Circle for 21 special years.  After Max’s death, Billie later found happiness again with her devoted husband Charles for 30 years. 

Billie had a special love for dogs and was a mom to her dear fur babies Jacob Arthur, Copperfield, Maggie Mae, Patrick, O’Malley, and Nellie Jo.

The family would like to acknowledge the loving care Billie received from Lisa Hosea, Jeanie Grabowski, Gloria McCall, Kim DeVille, Angela Johnson, Karen Keese, and her other caregivers. 

Friends hoping to honor her memory may send flowers or make a contribution to the Fayetteville Animal Protection Society at 3927 Bragg Blvd., Fayetteville, NC 28303.

Billie’s family will receive visitors on Saturday, February 25,  from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service.  Her Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. in the chapel with the Rev. Nick Smith presiding.  The burial will immediately follow in Cross Creek Cemetery No. 4. 

Services are entrusted to Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service & Crematory.
