Cathey Sue Rogers, 76, of Fayetteville, N.C., died Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Cathey was born in Bixby, Oklahoma, on Nov. 12, 1946, the daughter of Finis T. Ramsey and Betty Jo Olden. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Central State University, now known at University of Central Oklahoma. Cathey was a traveling ICU/recovery nurse who loved tennis, University of Oklahoma softball, reading, and traveling. She also loved spending time with her family. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Samuel J. Ramsey.
She is survived by her sons, Christopher L. Rogers and wife, Athena, of Raeford, N.C., and Nathaniel F. Rogers of Oklahoma City; her sister, Sandra Little of Oklahoma City; six grandchildren, Sean P. Rogers; Hunter M. McKean Rogers; Courtney R. Holmes and husband. Nathaniel; Savannah A. Rogers; Dakota P. Rogers; and Mackenzie M. Rogers; one great-grandchild, Journey L. Rogers; and a host of extended family members and friends.
The family is planning a private memorial service to be held in Yukon, Oklahoma, on a later date.
