Mr. Ricky Lee Roberts, 65, of Fayetteville, NC, died Friday, August 19, 2022, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Ricky was born September 20, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan. He was raised by the late Chuck Curtis Casebeer and Coreen Roberts Casebeer. Ricky was retired from the US Army, Special Forces. He worked as a paralegal for the Army. Ricky was a passionate outdoorsman where he enjoyed mountain climbing and running, including marathon running. He was a family man who was loyal, funny, compassionate, intelligent, and interesting. Ricky was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronnie Roberts and Herman Roberts.
Ricky is survived by his wife, Karen Roberts; four sons, Tony Roberts and wife April, Matt Roberts and wife Miranda, Alex Roberts, and Jeb Carter and partner Katie; daughter, Angela Roberts; sister, Theresa Bergeron and husband Mike; brother, Greg Roberts; ten grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at Faymont Baptist Church, Fayetteville, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. A graveside service, with full military honors, will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 26, 2022, at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, Fort Bragg.
