The Sandhills Purple Heart Dinner is scheduled for Aug. 20 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Crown Expo Center, 1960 Coliseum Drive. The dinner honors Purple Heart recipients and their families, Gold Star mothers, and the families of those killed in action. There will also be a special recognition of World War II veterans. The event is open to the public; tickets are $25.
The Crown Complex will be enforcing its clear bag policy for this event.
