Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department have obtained warrants charging a 29-year-old man in connection with two people who were found shot to death early Monday on Aftonshire Drive.
Rhaim Mosies Santiago has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of 33-year-old Marchellous Latrel Braddy and 27-year-old Nakea Latasha Brooks, police said. Santiago also is charged with one count each of second-degree kidnapping and attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, police said.
Santiago, whose last known address was in Clayton, is considered armed and dangerous. He was last seen in the Selma area, police said. Anyone who knows his location is asked to immediately call 911.
Santiago also has outstanding warrants from March from the North Carolina Highway Patrol in Johnston County in an unrelated incident and an outstanding order for his arrest on an unrelated probation violation, police said.
“Santiago was known to both victims prior to the incident,’’ police said in a release.
Officers responded to the Aftonshire Drive home around 12:15 a.m. The homeowner told police he returned home and found a man unresponsive inside. Police later identified the man as Braddy, whose most recent address was listed in the 100 block of Rushmore Drive in Raeford.
Officers found Brooks in the yard when they responded to the call. Her most recent address was listed in the 600 block of Barton’s Landing Place, police said.
Police said Braddy and Brooks were acquaintances.
“The incident does not appear to be a random act,’’ police said earlier Monday.
