Each year, Cumberland County Schools names a graduating senior at each high school as a Standout Senior. The 17 2023 Standout Seniors are bright, hard-working students who have overcome the odds to graduate and dedicate themselves to serving their community.

Moesha Young will graduate from Gray’s Creek High School. She answered these questions about her education and her future.
My proudest accomplishment is trying out for cheerleading at Gray’s Creek High School and being the first handicapped cheerleader for the school.
I plan to attend UNC-Pembroke and major in elementary education.
Cheerleading, GEMS Club and work. Cheer has changed my life in so many ways. It is my favorite extracurricular as I have met so many people. I also love the confidence it has given me and the opportunity to travel around.

They have helped me better my education and blessed me with so many opportunities.
The staff member who has made a lasting impression on me is Stephanie French, who is my teacher and cheer coach. She always encouraged me to be myself and to never change who I am.
I attended Alderman Road Elementary School in Fayetteville.
