A motorcyclist died Wednesday night following a crash near Pamalee Drive and Van Buren Avenue, the Fayetteville Police Department said.
The crash, which happened around 6:50 p.m., also involved a sport utility vehicle, police said in a release.
Police said Xavier Brasfield, 25, of the 600 block of Brittany Place, was operating a 2014 Suzuki motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Sherard Matthews, 44, of the 1600 block of Nutley Drive, was operating a 2005 Ford Expedition, police said.
Pamalee Drive at Van Buren Avenue was closed for several hours following the crash.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remained under investigation late Wednesday.
