Police: Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run on Bragg Boulevard

A Fayetteville man died early Sunday after being hit by a vehicle while walking on Bragg Boulevard, police said.

Officers were dispatched just after 2 a.m. to reports of a pedestrian being struck along Bragg Boulevard near the Martin Luther King Jr. Freeway, the Fayetteville Police Department said in a release.

Moises Velasquez, 30, of the 800 block of Country Club Drive, was found in the road, police said. Life-saving measures were unsuccessful, and medical personnel pronounced him dead on the scene, police said.

Police said Velasques was struck in the roadway as he walked along Bragg Boulevard.

Police have released a photo of a vehicle they believe was involved in the incident. The vehicle is believed to be a Dodge pickup and may have damage to the front passenger corner where the pedestrian was hit, police said.
