Police: Portion of Pamalee Drive closed following fatal motorcycle accident

A portion of Pamalee Drive was closed for several hours Wednesday night following a fatal motorcycle accident that also involved a sport utility vehicle, Fayetteville police said.

Officers were dispatched to an area of Pamalee Drive near Cain Road around 5:40 p.m. in reference to a traffic crash, police said.

Joan Lawson, 61, of the 100 block of Bison Lane in Lillington, was operating a 2018 Dodge Durango on Pamalee Drive, police said in a release. 

Treyon Christopher Tedder, 25, of the 3500 block of Vandora Drive, was operating a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle on Pamalee Drive. Tedder died of his injuries at the scene, police said.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.

Pamalee Drive at Cain Road was temporarily closed while police investigated.
