Fayetteville police are investigating a shooting at a mobile home park in west Fayetteville that left one woman dead.
Police responded to a reported shooting on the 1500 block of Alvin Street, which is off Bingham Drive, just after midnight Wednesday.
Officers found a woman who had been shot lying in the street. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said in a release.
Police identified the woman as Nikayla McCray, 19, of the 1500 block of Alvin Street.
The preliminary investigation indicated there was a disturbance in the street that resulted in an exchange of gunfire, the release said. A mobile home was also struck.
No other injuries were reported, a police spokesman said.
